Will my donation reach its destination?
Organizations and foundations obtain funding for their activities through various means. Organizations are accountable for their work to various stakeholders, from donors to beneficiaries. Whether it is helping children and the elderly or protecting nature, organizations need leadership and administration to effectively carry out their mission for the benefit of people, nature and society. Organizations almost invariably incur various costs in their operations, and these must be disclosed openly. When considering donating, donors should always check the reliability of the person requesting support. A reliable operator can be identified by, among other things, that the fundraising permit is in order, i.e. the fundraising number has been provided, and that the administrative and fundraising costs are reasonable. Reliability is also indicated by the fact that it is possible to ask the organization more questions, for example by phone or email.
Fundraising also incurs costs. Implementing donation requests often requires good partners and services such as media, postal and banking services, digital tools and advertising agencies. The organization must ensure that communication and advertising are truthful, and that supporters are informed in a comprehensible manner about both the fundraising and the use of the proceeds.
