FUNDRAISING HELPS FUND THE IMPORTANT WORK OF ORGANIZATIONS
Organizations raise hundreds of millions of euros annually to finance their operations through various forms of fundraising. Forms of fundraising include membership fees, donations, wills, service and product sales, bazaars, corporate collaboration, student magazines, lotteries and crowdfunding. The 2024 study estimates that the national total fundraising target for organizations this year will be over 1,061,000,000 euros (Taloustutkimus 2024).
Traditionally, public grants have played a significant role in financing the activities of organizations. Funding from private foundations and international bodies is also important. In the future, finding new sources of funding will be a lifeline for many organizations. By promoting the professionalism of fundraising and developing a culture of donation, organizations will continue to be able to finance their significant work in the future.
Organizations believe in growth in fundraising
One-time and monthly donations (41% and 28%), membership fees (26%), and events and product sales (16%) are important sources of income that organizations plan to invest in to finance their operations. A large proportion of organizations (62%) have collaborated with one or more companies, and one in three organizations plans to invest in business collaboration in the future.
