Fundraising event of the year

The Charity Fundraising Act of the Year competition - VaLa Awards - merged with the Finnish Comms Awards in spring 2019, coordinated by Marketing Finland. The Charity Fundraising Act of the Year competition has been merged with the Finnish Comms Awards as a separate category, where entries can be submitted by either a non-profit organization or another actor. VaLa has been awarding the charity fundraisers of the year since 2011.

The Fundraising Act of the Year category rewards a non-profit or other organization that has implemented a fundraising act that has achieved excellent results. The evaluation emphasizes the financial result of the fundraising act and the growth in the result in relation to the size of the organization and previous results. In addition, the insight, reach and social impact of the fundraising implementation are taken into account. The details and key figures of the competition work are treated confidentially as business secrets. The jury is bound by a duty of confidentiality.

Fundraising Act of the Year 2024

At the Finnish Comms Awards gala on November 16, 2024, successful Finnish marketing communications were awarded. The HERitage campaign was awarded the prize in the Fundraising Campaign of the Year category. The campaign was implemented by the International Solidarity Foundation and United Imaginations Oy. The jury justified the work as follows: ''A pure genius implementation. There are enough different nuances and sensitivities in the work, from which only a truly skilled and experienced team of professionals can find exactly the right main messages and methods. The work managed to find an excellent balance between a sensitive topic and a direct message, even though the topic is distant for Finnish donors and the international implementation increased the difficulty factor. Exceptionally impressive results, congratulations!''
